Whole centre console not working! Smell of burning ...

Last week out of the blue the ventilation stopped working -no lights on the console, no heated seats or AC. Basically the whole upper section of the centre console was dead. Tonight, the lower section of the console is dead as we'll , including the air suspension. Even the orange gear selector indicator doesn't light up! And to top it all up, I can smell something has been burning behind the dash. Any ideas? Apart from that, the car drives, stops as normal. All other electrics work.

I have updated it, but it doesn't show -nothing seems to be working at present and it's just not the car! Big Cry Big Cry

It's pretty easy to have a look behind the panel. There is a single screw on the side panel in the footwell, and then the wooden bits at the side of the switches clip off sideways.

You need to look for damage if you have been smelling something burning.

100% get the AA/RAC to recover it to a professional before you turn into a statistic my friend...I personally would not drive it one more inch before resolving the problem... Bow down

Thanks guys. I have removed the ventilation facia and the main wire loom connector (it's blue on my car) has burnt out, but seems to have welded onto the panel. Everything else works, even the rear blower. So what's the damage and how much? It will need some loom, the blue connector and maybe the motherboard on to which it attaches as that may have been burnt as we'll

You can't just replace them without finding the source of the overload sir... Else you will just burn out the next plug & potentially more next time around...

Yes I agree. Just need to fully disconnect it now to ensure that it doesn't cause further problems but I can't get the main loom off as it's welded to panel. Which connection transfers the power to the unit - does anyone have a photo or diagram? Thanks
