United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Zambezi Silver

The 4.4 is the dogs Stornaway is my second fave colour and will wear better over a few years plus not much spec diff tbh I might go and look at the 4.4 as mother in law sold her pad for 300k and downsizing Wink _____________________________________________________

United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Santorini Black

Found a couple of contenders locally!

Low milage 4.4 vogues 24k ish
both stornoway
One Ivory with walnut
one black with piano

The Ivory has 19"s and a non standard BosAl tow bar
The black is on 20" with no tow bar

Going to look tomorrow, but will have to seriously do some man maths on the subject as they are £37k.....

Almost want to get a combination of the 2! Stornoway with Ivory and piano on 20" with no towbar! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

If you can push to Vogue SE or ultimately Autobiography (even with higher mileage IMHO), I would. They will always be worth more when it comes to resale. The seats are also far better.

Agree, to some extent, but as a place to start could be worth a visit.

Don't really need the extra spec tbh, current one is a vogue and its plenty comfy for me.

It's going to be more a case of seing if I reckon if the extra power and gearbox are worth it.

Really torn between spending say £4-5k on a facelift and remap, possibly renewing the egg valves as a precaution and getting the transfer box leak sorted (which I think I have sussed) and dumping £20k into a newer model! It's less a money thing and more a value for money thing.

I need to have a go and see if I think I will feel short changed by the 4.4, over a remapped 3.6. I think the best way to test this will be to have a go in the Stornaway on black, as then I won't be swayed by the cabin! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

4.4 no question, if you buy the 3.6 you will always wonder "what if" . Remaped 3.6 been there done that - just have done with it and buy the 4.4 - plant your right foot, the colossal torque stamps the tail down, the nose comes up and she takes off like a plane Wink Thumbs Up a remapped 3.6 has horses but lacks the torque of the 4.4 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Ok, I have spent the morning looking at 4.4's, had a drive back to back with my 3.6.

the results are in!

Yes its faster
yes it is smoother
yes it feels slightly more planted
yes it is quieter

BUT......

its a matter of degree, having had a good test drive in one i can honestly say i don't think it is £22k more car than mine.....

its a fair bit faster, but its only a little smoother, a little quieter, and a little bit more planted. The interior was black so is effectively the same as mine, the switchgear is neither here nor there to be honest.

Hunters weren't too cheeky on the trade in either, though i could get more here probably, and would throw in 2 extra years warranty to give 3 in total!

Even so I think a decision has been made, the 3.6 stays for the time being, and possibly gets a facelift to keep the interest. It has after all had most common faults mended over the last couple of years and £22k would pretty much be a whole other 3.6 (which is another way of looking at it, harwoods have a nice 3.6 09 westminster in at £22900). As much as i would have liked to get in it and thought Thumbs Up , i just didn't....... and really head has to rule over heart, man maths just couldn't make it work. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

That sounds like a well thought out analysis; I'm in the same boat, and will probably wait another couple of years before looking to upgrade to a TDV4.4 (or 5.0 SC if the mid life crisis kicks in properly!).

Hardwoods one is on the lr website, £22900. So a search for 3.6 tdv8 upto 25k should find it. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
