A S/C is possible, as i do quite low milage, and in terms of value for money they look good, and make a nice noise. |

That's the reason we bought the SC rather then another TDV8 as there's less to worry about with EGR's, Turbo's etc. David. 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather 2012 Range Rover 5.0 SC Autobiography in Indus Silver with Jet/Ivory Interior 2012 Range Rover 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography in Baltic Blue with Sand Interior |

Don't deceive yourself - the SC has its own issues as well |

True, you just don't read about big expensive repair bills with those quite as often. I had a word with Craig before buying it and he shared the same view.

True, but that's probably down to V8 diesels outselling SC 20:1 (figs from my main agent) |

I've seen a few of the recent SC gearbox threads so am hoping and praying!

Starter motor is weak on the 4.4. |

DPF issues seam to have taken the baton from the 3.6 EGR's |

Interesting. I test drove a 4.4 at the weekend and the brakes were pretty average and certainly didn't inspire confidence. I put this down to the car sitting on the forecourt for the best part of 2 months. Was extremely quick though and sat at 1400rpm at 70, which was remarkable. My local dealer has the 4.4 for sale at £33k (2011 plate) and a 3.6 for £32k (2009 plate, but 2010 model). Both have towbars included and seem to have the same spec level, so now I need to decide. Dealer is pushing me towards the 4.4. |

there has got to be some milage difference in there somewhere! 18 month age difference and better engine and spec for only 1k more!

4.4 v8 diesel brakes average ? There must have been something wrong with them - they are the same as the 5.0 supercharged. And as for a 3.6 v 4.4 for 1k more - well draw you own conclusions - either the 3.6 is almost as new with very low miles or the 4.4 is double the mileage |

'59 3.6 has done 43k and is a Vogue SE; '11 4.4 has done 62k and is 'just' a Vogue. The 59 is the 2010 model, so seems to have all the kit. The dealer has just reduced the price of the 4.4 to the same as the 3.6, so £32k for either.
