Low on the back


Hi there, I haven't posted for a while cos had trouble free motoring but !!!! I've just come home and the FF is sat on its arse !! Heard a grunting from the rear earlier on and thought mmmmm
Any way the ride hight won't go up so thinking along the lines of the compressor is shot. I haven't really looked into it yet just thought I'd get a quick post up. No faults showing on the IID tho !!!
The orange light keeps flashing but won't go up or down
Any ideas Confused

Ok quick update
Did a battery reset and that seemed to work. Have a warning saying air suspension inactive and obviously suspension won't go up and down. Ran the IID and had a fault on eas 1/1 32 can bus fault Confused Confused
Is it worth repairing the compressor seal from bagpipesandy ?

Have a go at taking the compressor out and put 12v into it and see how it runs , should tell you if its gubbed or saveable , but looking at the picture it looks like a leak from somewhere as well . 2008 MY Supercharged

Right went out to the RR today got in put the key in and message hdc inactive. Put the IID tool on and no faults regarding suspension. Pushed the down button on the dash and bingo suspension dropped down to entry height. Just one of those gremlins I reckon Bow down Bow down
I did do the live values in the IID and the reservoir compression was 180 psi. Had a bit of messing around up and down and psi dropped to 165
Do you think it's worth doing the pump repair kit ?

Steverr, HDC inactive either low battery or ecu chain of commands error. Interesting no faults registered? YOu say it droped to access height OK, did it come back up to Normal/Off Road OK? It is believed that it should take @ 1.5 minutes to go from access to off road, best we have as a test for the compressor.... .

Joe, I tried to go up to off road height but didn't wait long enough. I'll go check.
I always get the hdc whenever I don't use it for a few days... All fun and games ehhh Shocked
Ok update: goes up and goes down but is losing pressure somewhere. Went high to low back to Middle then wouldn't let me go any further. Checked the pressure on the IID and was 138psi.
So I'm thinking if if it was a strut leaking would it not come up as a fault on IID ?

Pressure will drop as you change height as its increasing the volume in the system as the air bag expands and the car goes up.

Check the pressure a minute or 2 after it has gone to top height and the pressure should have built back up as the pump will have kicked in.

If you keep sending the car up and down it will bleed loads of air out and will rise only on the pump which takes ages, and eventually overheat it.

Do stuff slowly, with the car running and don't keep going up and down.

Personally I would get the car in normal, run car for 5 mins, test the pressure. Run the car. Good excuse for a drive.

Get home check the pressure, should be same.

Put it up to top height, leave 5 mins with car running. Check pressure. Leave at off-road height, come back in morning. Before you run the car check the pressure. Should then be able to tell if you have a leak. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Hi how do I test with 12v ? Is it the red/white and brown wire ?

If your getting 180psi in the tank then that's the right amount...

The pump will overheat pretty quickly going up and down a lot, it will then cut out until it cools, hence the lower pressure you found... wait and it will pump back up..... then

Leave it alone for a few hours, check the live values, tank pressure should be 180psi or thereabouts, drop it to access height, then turn knob twice so offroad height button flashes and time how long it takes...

Should be around 1 1/2 mins... if it's over two mins then it needs some work, try the new ring fix.... Pete

Hopefully fingers crossed all sorted. Bow down Bow down there was a noise like something was loose in the compressor. One of the 3 fixing bolts was a tad loose and vibrating the compressor.
I've put it into off road and took the pressure reading in live values. Leave it tonight then check in the morning.
Haven't a clue why it dropped !! Just one of those things that these do... Shocked Shocked But seems fine since the battery disconnect. Goes up and down like it should Banging Head hopefully that's the end of this saga.... And on to the next....
Oh forgot to ask... Would anyone know what the heights should be in live values.
Mine are as follows
FL 110
FR 145
RL 160
RR 139
