Afternoon all,

I've got a relatively new TDV8 (2007 Vogue SE) with deployable side steps. The steps operate fine when locking/unlocking and opening the door. However, the roof button (near the sunroof button) doesn't work, when pressed it doesn't move the steps.

Any ideas?

As with many things Range Rover related the operation of the steps is not as simple as you might think. I have this saved as a note on my phone to remind me how the switch works:

RR Sidesteps Operation

To force the steps to stay out regardless of the position of the doors, what LR call 'roof access and jacking mode' get in the vehicle and close the doors, quickly insert the key in the dash and turn to position two, whilst steps still out, then hold the switch for about five seconds until the light in the switch illuminates continuously then remove the key. The steps will now stay out regardless of the position of the doors unless you drive away or lock the vehicle at which point they will return to their normal function. 2012 5.0L S/C

Hi try this

Start the car and put it to off road height.
Press the roof button and side steps will come out.
turn off key and they should stay out
