Intermittent Drivers Seat Operation

Hi,

Anyone had intermittent issues with driver's seat not moving when pressing one of the memory buttons?

It can be fine for a while, then it doesn't want to operate. You can hear the switch click but no movement. Leave it a little while and perhaps lock and unlock the car, and it bursts back into life again.

It didn't happen much so I didn't stress over it, only now it is becoming a regular occurrence and the Mrs isn't too happy that her feet won't reach the pedals!

I'm thinking it can't be a dodgy connection to one motor as the others would then surely work, as opposed to something relating to the central control of it.

Just wondering if anyone has experience of this before I go staring at RAVE and dismantling the car?

Thanks,

Richard

Had a very similar thing happened, then everything just stopped working. Turns out it was a wire which had chafed where the loom bends under the seat. It finally shorted out and blew the fuse.

Check under the seat (I didnt do it - Dealers did), apparently the seat had to be dismantled to get at the loom to track down where the break was.

cheers Paul, that sounds like a very plausible explanation. I'll look there first, wiggling whatever wires there are to see if it occurs, and note my findings on here.
