It's just a matter of waiting for the car to cool off and then checking there is enough coolant in it, just like the olden days.

OK, thanks for that. I'll get the mix checked as the fluid level is fine. hopefully its that simple........but it probably wont be. |

If there is nought wrong with your coolant tank (not saying I disagree with CTC, but I changed mine and it was fine)

We have found in more than 50% of cases that swapping the sensor does not fix the issue! Which means one of two things... A, the bottle comes with a different sensor? Or B, the sensor is so fragile they can be damaged during fitment... So, we only ever change the bottles now... Simples ![]() |

What I found odd was that I could change the sensor when the coolant tank was full. Does this mean that it doesn't actually sit in the coolant, but in some kind of see through bulb (glass/plastic), and perhaps it is this that gets dirty/crazed/occluded (big word for me this time of night!) and the sensor cannot "refract" the coolant? This would resolve why just changing the sensor may not work?
