It's just a matter of waiting for the car to cool off and then checking there is enough coolant in it, just like the olden days.

We have found in more than 50% of cases that swapping the sensor does not fix the issue! Which means one of two things... A, the bottle comes with a different sensor? Or B, the sensor is so fragile they can be damaged during fitment... So, we only ever change the bottles now... Simples |

What I found odd was that I could change the sensor when the coolant tank was full. Does this mean that it doesn't actually sit in the coolant, but in some kind of see through bulb (glass/plastic), and perhaps it is this that gets dirty/crazed/occluded (big word for me this time of night!) and the sensor cannot "refract" the coolant? This would resolve why just changing the sensor may not work?
