Check coolant level!

Hi all,

It's just a matter of waiting for the car to cool off and then checking there is enough coolant in it, just like the olden days.

If the water level is fine, and you still get the warning, it is because the antifreeze / water mix is not the right strength.

If you still have an issue after that, I'd imagine it's a faulty sensor......

Hope this helps. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

The coolant tank is available for only about £20 more than just the sensor and its highly recommended you change the whole thing rather than just the sensor sir Thumbs Up

If there is nought wrong with your coolant tank (not saying I disagree with CTC, but I changed mine and it was fine)

just change the sensor:

We have found in more than 50% of cases that swapping the sensor does not fix the issue! Which means one of two things... A, the bottle comes with a different sensor? Or B, the sensor is so fragile they can be damaged during fitment... So, we only ever change the bottles now... Simples Thumbs Up

What I found odd was that I could change the sensor when the coolant tank was full. Does this mean that it doesn't actually sit in the coolant, but in some kind of see through bulb (glass/plastic), and perhaps it is this that gets dirty/crazed/occluded (big word for me this time of night!) and the sensor cannot "refract" the coolant? This would resolve why just changing the sensor may not work?

CTC have you had an old tank apart to see what goes on inside? .
