Give it a good clay session before you use the G220 you don’t want to add to any swirls by getting a piece of dirt in the pad. We ordered the 220 a few months ago but no one had it in stock so I cancelled the order. What product will you be using on it? I’ve had good results with SwirlX but it takes time with a random orbital.

Well I have not done the brim test yet but that was what the computer thought.
The M1 south had a 50 limit on stretches and then on the unrestricted sections I went up to 60. I have not driven her much but she seems to go into 6th at about 55-57mph dropping down to 1600rpm or so.
I had just picked her up so AC and cooled seats were on/off all the time. Cruise did the work and I tried not to touch the brakes at all - she seemed to coast in gear quite well.
She has done 49,000miles so is nicely run in.
It seem the previous owner/s did not bother cleaning the roof much as that needed a good bit of work but has come up well. A couple of minor blemishes dissappeared with polish but I am looking forward to getting a Meguiars G220 to cut out the odd bit of swirling - apparently they are the best thing since sliced bread.
The spare seems to have a cut in the sidewall and only about 3 mm of tread - the fronts are 4mm at best so new shoes before winter but what to do? LR built the car to use Scorpions but I also bought the car to virtually guarantee I can get the kids to school in the winter so was thinking about 18-19" wheels and Vredestriens just for the winter - perhaps new scorpions would suffice?
Who is the best source to tyres blackcircles, camskills or somewhere else?
I also need to source a tow hook cover for the front as that is missing.
Do the cars come with a tool kit? I have the jack, chocks (2 plastic and 2 metal), wrench but no tool kit wrap.

Could try a Prius?

I was thinking SwirlX but if you say it is hard work, perhaps I'll try the bottom level cutting compound...

Very soon RRUK is going to be here, telling you a thing or two - about a thing or two - about cleaning a car...

All you're going to need is the entire contents of a Halfords Car Cleaning Dept, arms like Popeye and 11 spare hours!

...but listen (read) very carefully - there IS method in his madness! Bow down

correct - could not find anywhere better to put it on the RR - I feel it would spoil the look of the main grille.
Kind regards,

The other thing my LR man said was the TDV8 is chain driven (Honest John raves about chain driven engines as being bomb-proof) and the BMW TDV6 engine being belt thereby needing an extra cost/risk of failure. They have had a run recently on turbo/intercooler pipes due to the continual pressure/relaxing of the pipes.

The TDV6 is not a Range Rover engine, it's in the Discovery and Sport. The older diesel pre-TDV8 was the TD6 and that is also chain driven.

Good point - I am hoping it will last 5 years with my two!
The tacky seatback organisers are mainly to protect the seat backs and I think I will mask the piano wood trim on centre consule in the rear. My two are pretty trainable - it is their friends that have no regard for their mums car and treat ours the same - why do they think it is acceptable to kick the back of the seats?
rant over, Ed
