thats a good idea, but you'll have to put the OE ones back in for the MOT i suppose... ... - .- -.

Or change the OE reverse lamps to reflectors...

TBH whsats wrong with putting some brighter LED's in the reverse bulbs instead? they would then draw the same power but be uber bright?? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Stan, you can buy rear reflectors from any high street car shop for pennies and stick them on the back of your car to make it legal... Most of the hotrod boys stick them underneath on the rear suspension to keep legal but out of sight Thumbs Up

Look at a pic of my rear end and you will see the red has been removed from my rear lights so, removing the rear reflectors is something i have wanted to do for ages and the reversing lights are rubbish on a FF compared with a D4...

Craig, my point was that my sons bmw or my wifes matiz both havnt got the reflector strips like the FF..also a large percentage of neighbours cars lack said reflective strip..so why does the FF have them and other cars dont and it happens to be a MOT requirement... ... - .- -.

I looked at these a while back but I was worried about the lack or rear reflectors. Ultimately the car has to be in a state it would pass an mot at any time. It you put temporary reflectors on for the mot then take them off, I would be concerned that an insurance company would question the lack of statutory reflectors in the event of someone rear-ending you when parked (I had a car written off like this a few years ago... ) Now if you could take them apart and fit the led inside the existing red reflectors, perhaps with holed for the white LEDs to shine white........ Hmmm.

Alternatively, I have also considered buying an old set of reversing lights and modding them with an led array panel.... Anyone done this?

you could fit these and then stick some red reflective tape on the bumper somewhere..just a thought..

i dont think anyone has 'modded' the reverse lights except for putting in brighter leds.. ... - .- -.

Errr... Red reflective tape isn't acceptable as a rear reflector for MOT purposes.

Some faffers on here just change if you like them and with most mods I'm sure everyone on here has told every single insure mot the changes made, I'd be very surprised if they were ever picked upon on or frowned tbh I've been in trade 35 years and very very rare things have been pulled up on Cool _____________________________________________________
