I had mine fitted but you will find them at tv-in-motion.co.uk for £199.00. I guess the secret button would be to turn it off if you were stopped??? maybe!!!

Slightly off topic a bit , but tonight while i was sitting in the car park waiting on SWMBO i was Censored arsing about with the touchscreen and managed to find another way into this code thing but the screens that it showed me were totally different from the ones that RRUK has posted .

But weeks back when i did the same thing with the 753 code the screens were the same as RRUK's ......

Useless bit of info tho just thought i would post it ........ Thumbs Up

There is a pretty good Denso PDF doc with instructions for accessing "753" mode.
Is there somewhere I can upload it? 836k size.

prior to buying the FFRR i had a VW Touareg, i also had the VCDS diagnostic system for my laptop and with that you could change bytes and bits to alter various settings.

is this not what is required to keep the tv on permanently and what diagnostic system would do this on a RR??

anyone expert in these matters? Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

As an addendum, now that I have a 2010MY car I tried this and although the Sat nav hard buttons have moved sides and changed around, the procedure is exactly the same.

Illustrations:

Go to the Home screen as shown:

Press and hold in the centre for 5 seconds:

Press and hold the Navigation hard button for 5 seconds, and then press "753 and then then OK"

Select Video Inputs Test

Choose the input you want to use (Tv/DVD or Rear camera or companion camera

Once you've put the 753 code in and pressed OK, the Diagnostic Menu screen will appear.

Press the button that says Video Inputs test,

then press the button that says TV/DVD.

Then you can select which input on the next screen.

If the TV screen is selected and looks wrong (ie the picture is poor) you may need to press the PAL / NTSC button to correct.

The TV/ DVD or rear camera will be on until you turn off the ignition. You would need to redo each time the ignition goes off / on . ie, it will not turn this feature on permanently. You would need a separate module for that.

I understand that it is illegal for the driver to be able to view a TV / DVD screen whilst the vehicle is under their control. GONE 2010 Facelifted 3.6 TDV8 - Stornoway Grey + 22" Overfinch Olympus
