Australia 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

Well thanks for the help but I give up, I tried the suggestions above and then went for a drive.

Got just 500mt and same old same old.

So it’s now a trip on the back of a tow truck.

This has got to be the greatest waste of space I have ever come across.

I have had 6 new LRs, 5 of which came with warranties.

This garbage box had a warranty that literally expired as I drove it out of the showroom.

This heap has never operated properly and started failing 24 hours after I bought it.

Yet, while under warranty, what a joke, neither the deal or LRA would honour the warranty.

I can’t see me ever buying another Land Rover. 2007 TDV8 Lux

Almost certainly the intercooler hoses - it's happened to me twice.

The good news is that they're relatively cheap.

OK So where do I send the money?

Once again, folks you have been real lifesavers.

I went and check all the hoses again, including the two intercooler hoses and couldn’t see a thing.

Anyway, the two hoses looked to be easy to remove so I removed the left hose and pulled back the cloth sleeve and and there it was, a 40mm split in the hose.

I cleaned the hose with some petrol then stuck some canvas tape over the split, then I heated some heatshrink tubing over that and replaced the hose.

50 kms late and not a single engine system failure.

The local dealer had one in stock and it’s now in place.

Again, thanks for the great info and support.

BTW, the single hose is $119 over here Censored 2007 TDV8 Lux

Thumbs Up Glad to hear it - when it happened to me, I was absolutely convinced it was something major and very expensive.

Alistair, are these the hoses across the top of the engine?

If so, then I had the same thing recently (small split)

I also thought it was going to be something major and expensive - it felt exactly like the symptoms people have described for torque converter LUC failure - I am obviously very glad it turned out to be something relatively minor! 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

This is exactly what I was expecting.

So I am very pleased with the result and the great advice provided here.

It’s just a shame it’s taken 6 years to get my RR “close” to what it should have been when I bought it. 2007 TDV8 Lux

Thumbs Up Yep, same hoses!

Mine didn't register any faults but there was hesitation and slight juddering when on light throttle at approx. 1,500 to 2,000 rpm, especially if on a slight incline. Accelerate a bit harder and the problem went away, but my better half did notice some black smoke

Sounds like this should be one of the first things we advise people with 6 speed ZF gearboxes to check if getting a slight judder 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!
