Thanks Craig that looks like an ideal solution - any suggestions re where to get a suitable camera from? Ideally I would like to get one as close to OEM as possible....esp. if it can use existing wiring loom... but nothing on eBay so I am guessing OEM are not easy to come by...

put "camera" with the quote marks in and you have 6 pages to troll through , not all relevant but some are.. ... - .- -.

Thanks DR I did read that thread but (1) it is for a car that already has a camera installed and (2) the author was unable to tell us the make of camera he bought.... Cheers Jerry |

OK after some further reveiwing of the search results (thanks Stan), it appears that in order to have a camera that will see the towbar I need to do something other than the OEM install - as the OEM can't see the towbar!

on some of the ebay listings selling these number plate cameras, they give the dimensions ..its a case of removing your number plate light, measuring it and compare to the ebay ones. ... - .- -.

I have mounted a tiny surface mounted camera below the rear bumper. Wouldn't know it's there unless you were looking, great rear visibility, ok in the dark with reversing lights, and looks straight over the top of the tow ball making hitching easy...
