stan, i DID NOT have a light problem when i drove out for the night in the first instance. it happened out of the blue on the way home |

Bob... Did you fix your previous fault with the lights? The flickering? If not, I am surprised you would go out with known dodgy lights... Previously..

hi contraband, there seems to be a bit of confusion here i can see. the post you are reffering to about the lights going on and off is what i am now talking about in this latest post which i have just put in the general listing. so to clarify, my lights suddenly went out on the way home last wednesday night WITHOUT any prior knowing of any fault.

ok mate thats good, as i would not want anyone to think i would be that stupid to drive a car at night with a lighting problem as bad as this one |

If it was throwing up a code, then yes, the tool should pick it up...

yes i was in auto mode when it happened actually. out of a matter of habit i always turn the switch fully on to auto position when i go out at night. but i always turn it fully off.

Ah, did you say before it happened on dip AND main beam? They are 2 seperate bulbs, so it's not likely to be a ballast. Previously..
