You might actually spot me, who knows, Les Arcs is the closest big resort to where we are heading, but we stop in Beaune on friday night and break up the trip.

Effortless cruise down to our rendezvous point in Beaune.

Total miles travelled 443

Real world mpg achieved 22.3mpg @ 77mph on cruise. Not bad at all!

Filled up with 23km range left and put in 19.86 gallons. Pretty low! Discovery 4 HSE

Beaune is great, especially the old buildings being lit up at night with colourful designs. We normally stop there on the way back from skiing. Next Friday, on the way down we will be staying in Chambery to meet up with the rest of our group.

Very brave to get so low on the range of fuel left in the tank. Is it really accurate? Is there any reserve left once you get to zero? This will be my first trip in the SC so I'm planning my fuel stops already!

Hope the skiing goes well Thumbs Up 2012 5.0L S/C

We are heading to Lyon for the overnight. Used to stop at Dijon but would arrive at about 3pm with little to do, so seems a bit of a waste of an afternoon. So this time we are heading a little further on the first day, and hopefully can get to Les Arcs a bit earlier as we may miss some of the morning traffic around Albertville and Chambery.

Have just stumbled on a set of 19" wheels to fit the 4.4 which can have my scorp winters put on them for the trip as it sounds really snowy at the moment. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Lyon is always my overnighter on the way down - nice early start & miss all the traffic - usually on the mountain for around 10 Thumbs Up

Reims on the way home has always worked well for us too Very Happy

Tinqueux Thumbs Up There are loads of hotels in the same area & filling up at the Carrefour in the morning is a nice little saver on the fuel.

I did the Novotel for years, but did the Ibis Budget this year and was pleasantly surprised - perfectly good enough for us arriving late & heading off first thing in the morning.

Do you need socks/chains if you have winters fitted when you get to the 'equipements obligatoire' signs? 2012 5.0L S/C

It's not snowy at the moment. You definitely don't need snow chains or winter tyres to get here. Discovery 4 HSE
