Bizarre radio gremlin

I have a 2007 3.6 TDV8
Driving along happily with the radio on. When suddenly the sound went off and the orange power button started to flash. I couldn't turn it on or off. The DVD and cd also greyed out.

Eventually the press power button menu screen came on and I was able to listen to the radio and go between aux etc.

Utterly weird. One point though the left hand side of the interior of the boot does seem slightly wet so I'm wondering if I have water ingress somewhere that's causing electric issues?

Check around your bluetooth module as this usually soaks up the water first,

Take your spare wheel out and see if you have any water collected in the wheel well,

Do not forget to check the other side of the boot as theres a panel of relays etc over there too, dont want them wet !!

We have had a ton of rain fall on us these past few days so I would put a small wager on it that water ingress is your problem here, water inside your motor and freezing weather approaching aint good matey Mad

Its a real pain in the Censored but you must get the water ingress sorted out asap. Mines bone dry these days but it took a fair bit of elbow grease & pound notes to get it that way. Have a decent breakfast and get stuck in to see if your suffering another god dam land rover common fault Censored

It is a common problem.

Land Rover will even sell you a 'water shedder' to divert the water!

Appears to be an egg cup worth of water in the spare wheel well. Cleaned up, no corrosion or damage to any electrics. I can see at the corner of the left hand seal at the bottom it's not as flush as the other side. I will order a new seal. May check warranty to! Although as the name of the day ends in 'y' it's probably a no.

You still need to find where its coming from, if its coming in at the bottom of the seal I doubt this would affect the electrics panel on the side. Pop the D pillar internal plastic trims off and see if the wadding on the back is wet, also put something like a swing bin liner around your electrics and then pack in some pieces of kitchen towel or bits newspaper pages on the top of it all and leave it for a couple of days, check back for any evidence of water showing up, may take a few good showers to do it though.....
