Whining noise from front end TDV8

Hi all, wondered whether anyone could offer some advice?
Recently bought a 2007 TDV8, done 65k with FMSH, ever since i bought it I get a lot of noise from the front area of the car between 30-70 mph, first thought was wheel bearing, so I took it to my friendly specialist in the UK. we suspended the car and checked all the wheels, brakes etc, could not find anything obvious, all props, driveshafts seemed to be ok, mechanic test drove with me for 10-15 miles, and all he could think of , was tyre noise. car fitted with 19`s with GG AT`s on, but I also have a set of 20`s with scorpions on, have`nt tried fitting these yet. I just don`t think that it`s tyre noise, as it does`nt really change on different road surfaces.
Sound is pretty constant on acceleration and deceleration, was there a problem with the diff`s on these?
don`t really know where to look from here, any thoughts/suggestions?
The noise is not awfull, but I know that something is not right, and would like to get it sorted

before you go any further i would swop the wheels/tyres, it 'might' be the cause and obviously the cheaper solution... ... - .- -.

An All Terrain pattern tyre will naturally produce more road noise than the standard road patterns, and this will change with road surface.

I know a particular road near me that in any car at all makes a droning and whining noise, it's just the make up of the road itself.

As Stan says, go for the cheapest and easiest potential remedy first and g from there, don't forget to let us know what happens! Discovery 4 HSE

Right changed the wheels today....incredible, noise seems to have stopped.
Only wazzed it around the village, but seems much better, bit peaved though, as the 19"s have 7mm of tread left but obviously they have deformed, for some reason.

Sorry very disco, have not had a chance to take her out, plus not really wanting to use her with dodgy wheel bearing.
Am out Sunday night will.let you know.
While I'm on here, quick question......how much do you pay for insurance here, and who with?
We are with AXA, and with full bonus, they want €820, done an online quote in the UK, and Admiral come out at £253!!

Very disco
Right, just been to get diesel, and done a little run around.
It was definitely the tires, now as good as can be, on our local roads.
What a relief....honestly thought that diff/drive shafts were on the way out.
Thanks for PM re Insurance, that's just the way it is in France then, was going to try and shop around, but think that I`ll just go with it now, 2 cars and bike all hit at the same time = BIG bill.blub:

I have the grabber at's on one of our hilux, have the same noise from the front end, thought it was the wheel bearing, gave it a good going over and swapped the wheels over from the other hilux which has bridgestone duellers on. Noise disappeared. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
