No. You need to upgrade the BM53 radio module for aux-in to work (as Baris does) - and then it is in the boot not behind the monitor.
A cheap aux-in is to use the CD changer audio in wires on the BM53's connector as described here

I've also read about it being done using the tape audio connectors (though you also either need to insert a cassette or incapacitate the micro-switch in the head unit that says there is a cassette installed). Couldn't find a DIY on a quick google - so here are the pinouts for the connector:

The C-Pin connectors 1,2,7, and 8 are for the tape. 3,4, and 10 are for the Aux-In adapter - but only if you have the BM53 upgraded to post 02 BMW BM54 specs:
