Great info, thank you! My driver’s seat is not heating, I have the 5 seconds led’s on and then nothing, so I found the connectors (the ones with the yellow arrows in the picture) and measured them on both seats. The multimeter shows continuity, so does this mean that the seat rest heater could be defective?

Possibly, my broken connector was the car loom side not the heat pad side of the connector

This is weird, I get 0.5 ohms on all the elements, including the ones from the passenger seat, where the heater is working... |

OK, so I dismantled the rear seat back on both seats. There is only one heater connector and it is reversed compared to the seating pad, anyway, on the passenger seat there is continuity, but not on the driver seat… I presume the back heating element is even harder to find and replace than the one from the seating pad…

After a very long time I managed to finally find the problem of my driver seat heating element, it was the connection between the backrest heater and the cable that goes to the connector… The cable is attached to the resistor through a small disk that was probably riveted but now is completely rusted… It is really hard to get to this connection point as it’s sewn into the seat cover. But after twisting the cable around the resistor end and soldering them together it’s working at last! |

The circled area is the connection point where corrosion was present.

thanks to the motivation of this thread, i just got done fixing the back seat element wiring connection. My gray wire was disconnected in the cushion. I was able to do it all w/o removing the seat. You'll have to get creative pulling the lower portion of the back leather cover loose and pull it through the front of the seat to access the connection point. |
