Bluetooth Install

Now I'm nearly ready to do this (hopefully this weekend) but have hit a snag already.

I have the ULF Module, new mic and a wiring loom (on its way) but can't find an arial or arial plug.

I assume I'll need this at some point.! Any clues where to go and what to get?

Thanks

Guys

I need your help - I need the connection lead from the bluetooth antenna to the ULF. BMW guy cant find anything..!

If any of you have done the bluetooth upgrade, would you be able to see if the cable has a part number on it for me to quote to BMW?

EDIT: Part number 61120137616 is the arial cable. Please shout if anyone has a spare. (unlikely) as they are on back order from Germany Sad

Thanks

Long shot Dan but I need the cable that links the bluetooth ULF unit to the bluetooth antenna.

BMW part number is 61120137616 but that may not be any use to you.

Can you supply something like this?

Thanks

BMW part 61-12-6-912-541

or

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GPS-1m-Antenna-E...1c2bcbef5c

or

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Radio-antenna-Ex...45f4f5a019

or

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fakra-A-Jack-to-Fakra-B...4603df29e6

Any of these will do, dont worry about the length, the BT antenna is good to 7-10m around the antenna, so you can have it in the boot.

THIS is the genuine cable, although the ebay advert is from the U.S and not much help, but at least you can see what it looks like and maybe have a look around the BMW's in some local scrapyards to see if you can find one? Whistle

Arghh. Can't try the pairing yet as the button is in the boot (with my new loom) and the procedure is to hold the button for a few seconds, then while holding it, switch on the ignition and continue to hold for a couple of seconds.... My Mrs won't help me as it's still raining... Big Cry Ash

Well - thanks to ccfj I have now installed my bluetooth on the FF. Routed all wires back to the boot for the mic and all is good.......

Apart from the fact that my mouth needs to be approx 2mm from the mic for the other person to hear me.!

Anyone come across this before..? I've ordered a new mic for tomorrow and hope that it will fix the problem but if anyone has any further info i would be grateful.

Thx Ash

Make sure that the mic is in the correct way round mate, the arrow needs to point to the windscreen (I think).

If its not that then try swapping the pins in the mic plug, could be RR are the opposite of BMW!!

Thanks John.

Interestingly the mic does work and gives very good sound when its literally 2mm from my mouth. As soon as you move it to 3cm or so away the other person can't hear anything..!

Tried it all ways round in fact it was pulled towards me and not fixed in the overhead console.

I may switch the wires to see if it makes a difference

Thx Ash

You could try the mic loom plugged direct into the mic too, see what that does.

OK Have tried mic straight into bluetooth unit without the extra mic loom and also tried switching the pins on the lead and no change. Person in the car can hear very well but person being called hears nothing except very close up to the mic.

Hopefully a new mic tomorrow will sort it.!

Thx Ash
