You don't need to knock 7 bells out of it, just a few light taps with a screwdriver or spanner |

Thanks guys, I have tried that but didn't hold much hope cos the pump is deep inside the fuel tank or am I missing something? Is there a secondary pump on the petrol also? 03 4.4 V8 petrol / lpg. 1st of many hopefully. I love my Rangie |

Cheers Stevey, I had read that but I think it is only the diesel that has the external secondary pump.

Looking at Rave the petrol engine only has one pump from what I can see. Still worth giving it a sharp chap with a hard object to see if it kicks into action |

Had this problem 2 years ago and the lads are correct, the v8 only has one pump and is on the righthand side.Lift the seats and you can actually thump it with your fist and that will free it if its sticking. It will run for a little bit and then stop again most likely.Saint v8's write up is all you'll need and another bit of advice is to change the fuel filter if your changing the pump aswell.

if the pump is working you should have heard a noise from it when you listened to it.The second option is to do a pressure test which can be found in the :
