Mine is stuck between High and neutral at the moment and failsafes itself and drives badly, not to mention all the bonging noises and it surges and dies a bit while accelerating. My question is can the shift motor be removed without loosing oil? I want to wind it into high and then try to put the motor back and leave the switch alone this time! Hopefully it stays put and shuts up after that, the target range is High on my iidtool so I am hoping it stays in High! |

I didn't get that far. The resistance on the potentiometer was spot on as you moved it round. On the basis that this was OK I didn't open up the poteniometer as it looked like it might break! @Mark You won't lose oil by just removing the TSM but it needs to be bolted on and in situ to use the vehicle or you will! On the basis that your transfer box ECU thinks it is in "High" you have a couple of options: - Take the TSM off, wind the transfer box into high (jacking the vehicle and moving a wheel back and forth with your foot may help) bolt on the TSM but do not attach the loom. This will give you one TFSP at igniton on and off but nothing in-between. Also remember that if your vehicle needs to be towed you can't put it in neutral using fuse 37. This is a cheap / free solution if you're prepared to put up with a TFSP on start up / off. - If like me, you assume your TSM is knackered, you can take it apart, put it back together again, put 12V on it and run it for 10 minutes. It could be make or break and you could be lucky! (see test video below) - A used TSM on ebay may or may not be better than your exisitng one. I have spoken to people who have bought used and ended up with one worse than their original! - A new TSM online pattern is about £700 - A new TSM from your dealer. Well I won't go there.............. These videos are also worth a look: Remove Test Refit 2006 4.2 SC 2019 Renault Zoe Dynamique Nav |
