Well that doesn't surprise me as there are 5 solenoids that fire up to unlock the car.. 2 stage unlocking would be so much nicer an option which I think the ccf will allow for Wink FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Heated seats and FBH and windows might be the killer here as they are big drains on power Sad

They may be options on 10MY=> on but not on us 02-09 ones mick Sad FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Zermatt Silver

On page 1 of this thread Simon1233 posted that he had taken a saw to the S5 battery Shocked to get it to fit to his 2007 TDV8. I have been struggling to get mine in (and the battery) and had it sort of sideways a bit but only one battery hold down would fit. I decided to have a go at mine today.

Got the hardpoint saw out. Did all the procedures in the Wiki and other posts about letting it rest before disconnecting and getting the bonnet into access mode (I've done it so often now the bloody clips almost fall off!) and then hefting the bloody thing out. 2 minutes with a saw and it went back in nice and easy Very Happy

Happy now and thanks to Simon1233 for the simple but effective solution Thumbs Up 2012 5.0L S/C

Exide 100A Replacement for TDV8

All,

Was experiencing the oft reported failure to start especially after leaving doors unlocked for long periods. Followed Simon 1233's advice I replaced the original 90A Varta (LR badged) battery wtih a 100A Exide unit purchased from Europarts (the cited discount codes still work) with a 3 year warrantry. This firstly fits (no sawing up of the side of the battery needed) and secondly gives me another 10% extra Amp hours over the original unit. Since doing this the cars been behaving nicely. I figure if the battery lets me down in the next 3 years I can get it replaced under warrantry which one is unliekly to be able to do for the physically larger 110Amp Hour units to which a saw has been taken to!

Hope this is of some use.
