Mine broke. It was apparently unrepairable, a new one was ฃ1400 ... Warranty Direct paid because the fault was (it seems) in the internal ECU , which they DO cover. The FBH itself wasn't covered.

Just tried mine this morning for the first time (2004 4.4V8 petrol) and everything worked: on pressing the remote, lights flashed red, fan started up and ran for c.17 minutes, but no heat!! Does this mean the glow plug is kaput or is there another cause?(sorry Joker, not trying to hijack your thread, but are your symptoms similar?) |

Well went out to the car this afternoon fired the FF up let it run for about 10 mins switched it off , then pressed the remote for the FBH and hey presto it started but after about 17 mins or so inside the car was still cold and the outside windows still frosted up all that had changed during the 17 mins it was on was this , as you can see certain bits on the bonnet started to thaw out

From that it looks like the fbh fired bt was circulating the coolant round the block not the heater matrix, could be the solenoid valve which diverts the flow to the matrix. Cheaper than an entire unit. However a pig to get at.
