02 satnav question?

What satnav does an 02 ffrr use? Will a navteq 2007 disc work in it? Or will it mess up?

If the unit in your car has not been upgraded, it will be a Mk3 BMW sat nav system, as mentioned above, utilising the CD format disk.

You can upgrade to the Mk4 unit, its a direct swap, and uses a DVD based system.

They both use Navtec software I believe.........

Visually, the only difference is that the Mk4 unit has a DVD logo on the front.

There is a Mk4 unit here, and seems to be a reasonable price.........

So long as you don't have a Mk4 unit, nicedayforit's map disk will be fine.

I only posted about the Mk4, in case the 2007 disk was for the Mk4.

Apologies if it mudded the waters slightly.

Slightly related question..... (sorry for hi-jack)

My Mk4 screen says V4-0/00 for the firmware - is this the full version V32 firmware? I seem to have seen a V32.2 version mentioned (V4-0/02 I think) that works with the 2012 maps disc.

Can anyone confirm or deny that for me?

thanks "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

Hi MrP.

I believe you have the V32 installed, like I have.

There are modified versions of this software about, and the version is upgraded so the unit will install it when you insert the CD.

It is against forum rules to discuss and post links for "pirated" type software downloads.

Personally I'd stick with the genuine V32, as I have read of modded firmware locking the unit up.

Stay with the original mate.
