I'd argue that if Overfinch supply the car or do the work to modify a car, it's an Overfinch. Otherwise it's not. Although that does leave a grey area. What if a main dealer supplies and fits genuine Overfinch parts? Is that an Overfinch? And if it IS then what's the difference between that and someone fitting Overfinch parts themselves or having their local shop do it? I'm a big fan of how some of their cars look, but IMO they've moved from being a bespoke tuning company to a just being a styling company. Agreed! When I had the M5 I was gobsmacked at the audacity and stupidity of 520 owners who tried to badge up their piles of sh!t with M badges, I even saw one where he'd put a fake (horribly sticking out badly) quad exhaust on. Hilarious. Should have seen his face when I pulled alongside (had to slam on the anchors right next to him for visual effect of me slowing to his crawl) Dropped a cog, spooled up the 5.0V8 and off I went, laughing like a drain! Saw a 5 series just the other day where the guy had put an M badge on the boot, nothing else, and he'd put it on the wrong side! What a tosspot! I am considering putting the standard black land rover badges back on however its not really the same as people putting amg badges on mercs or m3 badges on 3 series imo as this cars are known for there high powered engines and this what makes an amg or an m3 for instance, however as overfinch dont seem to touch the engines these days its more of just a styling package imo but perhaps i should wait till i have all the overfinch bits on then put the badges back on. |

Also a genuine question here, are 'overfinch' cars marked on the log books as overfinch or just a range rover ? because if there not or dont have a plaque with build number etc how do you know there original? |

Can I refer you gentlemen to the discussion on Top Gear 2012 episode 7, the M5 test. In this discussion the gentlemen (for lack of a better term ) discuss the quality of the current 5 series and whether the M5 is worth the extra 30,000 odd GBP. Maybe these "poor" 5 series owners feel justified to put M-badges on their less superior beamers because of these "minor" differences. Personally, and M5 or AMG or the likes should only be badged such when the really are for all intents and purposes. As for the S/C discussion, I can live with the changes of grilles/vents/tail lights as I do think they look a lot nicer than the standard grille, vents and tail lights but the supercharged badge should only be on a supercharged otherwise it is just a pretentious bullshity thing to me, same as the M and AMG badges and IMHO a bit sad. As for the Overfinch badge discussion, I can see the justification, if the car has a certain number of genuine OF parts fitted (no matter who fitted them) then the badges are justified (don't ask me how many parts). It is the same as racing cars with stickers of what oil or brakes they have, they are actually fitted to the car. Personally I would only put OF badges on when the work was actually done by OF. Now the next question is, when do we see Cam-Tech Craig (CMC ???) badges appearing on his work (other than his own vehicles of course) MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!! Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !! |

Saw a Vogue the other day where the guy had bought some chrome SE lettering and stuck it on the back next to the existing Vogue badge.

No they are not marked on the logbook, neither is there an up to date register any longer as the records were skipped when they were taken over by auto brokers (so i was told by more than one Overfinch employee) Craig |
