I have this happen a lot on X5's when I've been working on them - there is a fuse in the o/s/r that somtimes needs pulling out and pushing back in - should be in your manual - worth a go and free '09 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto for the Mrs

Thanks guys for all your suggestions, advice and help. No good so far, have tried Daveo's suggestion and had no joy also had a look for a fuse and cant find one! will try disconnecting the battery tomorrow and see if that does anything.

Gold thimble sized valve? It may have been removed at some point, as mine was. |

Took the car to the garage today to get the suspension sorted, they pluged in the computer and the fault said "not enough air getting to the reciever" They reckon it is down to the very cold temp! whatever the reason its ok now and it works fine! At least it didnt cost me a small fortune |
