Switzerland 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Java Black
Picked up the FFRR, few issues

Picked up my first FFRR on the weekend. 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE. Driving it back to Switzerland we even experienced our first snow. When I saw snow, I mean a snow storm that reduced speeds to 20 km/h.

On the way back home, discovered a few issues with the car and wanted to ask if these were common/easily solved/warranty jobs:

1) The front window leaks by the passenger side. Not much and only in very heavy rain but enough to create a small puddle in the footwell.

2) The heated/cooling seats seem very good on the bum but not on the back; is this just how they are?

3) Condensation builds up in the rear nearside light; again, just how they are?

Apart from that, the car is amazing. Great on motorways, fantastic in snow, comfortable, fun; I love it!

Thank you to everyone in advance for the replies.

Is your car RHD or LHD?
My car had a similar problem. I had those rubber mats and one day while cleaning, i noticed that the car was tottaly soaked beneath the mat on the driver side (LDH car, on RHD should be passenger's side). I couldn't see water dripping from anywhere (I was worried because my car had the front windscreen replaced), so, on to the shop.

Turns out, one of the AC tubes was disconnected and sending the water that was supposed to go to the street into the car... Easy fix under warranty and never happened again.

Try to check if its dripping from anywhere, if its not, go to the warranty. (being a 2007 you should still be covered)

It's LHD. The water is coming from the screen area as the screen and material where the roof meets the screen is wet. I think the water is coming in by the corner of the screen.

The condensation in the rear lights is a known issue and if your car is under warranty you can have them replaced.

If its not under warranty apparently the fix is to drill small holes in the base of the light unit (after removing them - easy job) to allow the light to breathe. Discovery 4 HSE

That's not impossible but I think a blocked sunroof drain channel is more likely. Confused The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

Would you happen to know an official LR document number that describes the warranty fix? I am dealing with Switzerland and they are not great in English (plus the warranty runs out in Jan!)

Thank you very much for that. All I need to do is try and find time for a Swiss garage to fix the problems! Next appointment is mid Jan; after the warranty runs out!

I am tempted to get the warranty work done in the UK but I feel somewhat bad visiting a service centre only once to get warranty work done. Or would they not care?

Don't think they would be bothered, as the cost is paid by LR.

But I would make the appointment 1st and get wriiten confirmation, just to be on the safe side.

Bit of a trek, could you not get them to agree the issues / fix and defer the work? Might be worth a call to LR.

After the warranty runs out?????? Bow down

Come on men, is this your first car? Have you bought it from a LR dealer?
Your questions seem strange.
When you have a problem they should fix it whatever the date. They should check your car, report the issues to LR and then fix them even if at that time you're out of warranty (The problems have been reported so it shouldn't be no longer your problem)
If they're pushing you to January to ''expire'' the warranty, then something's not right

Whenever I had something with my car, I called the dealer immediatly. If it was something that could wait they would put it together with the service, if not, they would take care of it.

One month before my warranty expired, they told me to write down everything that needed checking so that they could receive the car before the expire date and fix everything.

A half decent Dealer will see warranty remedies as easy fixes and money in the bank as LR will pay for the work or they will claim it on their various and extensive insurance policies set against warranty work. Discovery 4 HSE

most motor manufacturers pay a significantly reduced labour rate to garages for undertaking warranty work. It is therefore in the garages interest to push it out of warranty and onto the customer to pay for it as they will get the full charge out rate and also the mark up % on any parts used.
