Is this normal suspension behaviour?

My suspension appeared to do something unusual today (although it may be normal and I've just never noticed it before!)
Basically I put the key in the ignition and turned it to II (warning lights on but engine off) and I noticed the front of the car raised up (engine still off) . Never noticed this before? Is this normal? The suspension changes between the four settings as it should manually and automatically , on this occasion I think it was previously parked up in access mode - someone please tell me somethings not gonna go pop! if this is completely normal then please excuse the noob question ! 2003 Vogue 4.4 V8 Java Black

Mine does this on occasion, sometime front sometimes back, sometimes a little whirr from the compressor. No fault codes from diagnostics though, guess it just gets in a pickle and has to sort itself out. .

Does it at traffic lights too sometimes, which I quite like, because no-one elses car does it.... .

If you leave it parked on uneven ground, it will try to level itself out - may be why it resets part (i.e. the front only) when you return to it?

It is just the suspension leveling itself out....

If I leave mine in the sun, the warmth makes the air expand rising the vehicle a tad, when I get in and close the door, this has the effect of commanding a relevel from the system...and she drops a tad....

Overnight she will relevel every 6 hours to maintain level (it will ower itself to its lowest corner - never upwards - until you open and close the door to command a relevel to compensate for your bodyweight)

The relevel at traffic lights is to compenstate for the nose down due to braking, it just pops the nose back up again....this then triggers a check check for 4 corner leveling, hence the slight adjustments while waiting at the lights.

I find that funny too, suddenly the car goes up an inch or two, and everyone is wondering what the hell is happening.. I just have to look down on all those around me without randomly adjusting odd suspension abilities. Tom

First sign for the defect pressure sensor in the silver air-tank under the right side of the underbody..., and also for the compressor pressure under 13,7 atü...., because the ECU, the sensor and the front ventil work together only with full pressure

regards from germany

It is quite a lot of fun playing with the suspension height. I now do it on a daily basis for my drive to/from work as the rainy season creates some deep puddles with all kinds of crap in them. I look at all the "poor" sedans scraping through and I just glide through at offroad height ! And access height is also great for the kids and SWMBO getting in and out. And the random adjustment/re-levelling is just quirky. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
