Hi to you all . I am in the Market for a FF RR or a sport but feel a FF is for me so how do you rate your ownership ? 1 as rubbish and 10 as great and which model would you recommend ( I have a budget of 50K )

If you want one with all the toys either look out for a Vogue SE / Autobiography and i think in your price range you might find a used 4.4 TDV8 model …

Granted they have the odd problem but which car doesn't

Or if you get the Sport don't forget the back to front skip hat ...

Which ever model you go for you'll be happy with it ...

I've had 3 range rovers, sold my last one three months ago!




So I'm in the market for a new one. It's amazing how you can get used to a Range Rover, and not fully appreciate it, then you try another car, and you suddenly realise what you've done!

So I'd say 10. Don't necessarily expect a bed of roses, speak to Aston and Ferrari owners, it you're unlikely to get gushing praise for the reliability, most super cars have their foibles!

However the FFRR is probably the best all round motor car you can buy. There's a reason that so many people who could buy any car they wish, buy a Range Rover!  Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

I have had a brand new 4.4 TDV8 Vogue while the dealer fixes my RRS that they damaged

I dont want the RRS back it is slow and uncomfortable compared to the FFRR - loads of 12 month old Vogues for 47-50k out there

I paid 46k for my RRS @ 6 month old and can not believe for another couple of grand could have had a FF

What are you looking for?
A fast SUV? (oxymoron to me) Get a Sport.
A super luxury land yacht? Get a RR.
How about a fast super luxury land yacht?: Get a Supercharged RR.

We have 2 RRs, a 2000 P38 & a 2005 FF.
The '05 goes fast enough, is super comfortable, and an all-around nice vehicle.
I'm too old for the red light racing foolishness of my youth, I'm more the stately cruiser type guy now.
My 2000 RR is still pretty sweet, even though she could use some TLC to bring her back to the glory of her youth.

My daughter just got her driving permit; in 1 year, she can get her license.
She said, "I want a Jeep Wrangler. Red. 2-door. Well, if you get me a Range Rover, I'll take it, but I don't HAVE to have one." (the '05 RR is her brother's daily driver)

She would also accept my wife getting a new(er) vehicle, and ending up with my wife's 2001 Grand Cherokee.
So my diabolical plan is to get my wife a RR next spring, and my daughter gets the GC.
Until she feels all left out, then we'll have to get her one, too.

Anyways, to the topic at hand; our '05 RR has been good so far (we've only had it for just over a year).
I like it, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to someone not afraid to do a little work on it themselves. Jim

10 for me, by far the best car I have ever owned so spoiled for life !!! The little technical nigglies I have had with other cars as well (and worse) so they don't count, just part of ownership of a car.

There may be better cars than a FFRR but that is not relevant as this is the best car for me right now

As long as I can afford to, I will always have a FFRR on my driveway.

If I won the lottery tomorrow I might buy a newer one I guess...  Past (too many to list, but a few favs)...

Bear in mind I've never had a "luxury" vehicle before the RRs, so I'm probably biased.
I have a database I created to track vehicle maintenance & repairs.
Believe it or not, on a cost per mile, the Range Rovers aren't really significantly more expensive than our Grand Cherokee.
Ignoring fuel, of course.
The GC gets better mileage, but any time the family goes anywhere, we take the FFRR. Jim

10 from me! Like others say, they have their "issues", but there's nothing on the road that combines as many positive attributes as an FF!  Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Unfortunately Rugbyman you have walked into our trap.
Most of us are here because of our love of the FFRR.
Therefore most answers are going to be biased towards these wonderful vehicles.

We have had 6 RRs since 1975, 3 classics 1 P38 and 2 full fats.

All have been great and reliable.

Current 4.4 TDV8 is the best yet especially for towing.
