I have had what can omly be described as a Funny buzzing noise from drivers side footwell.

I had just engaged low ratio as i was parking on a steep hill. And i then got this quite loud buzzing.

It carried on after i had turned off the ignition and removed the key, and slowly faded out, it didnt return when i switched it back on.

Weird, but no idea what it was.

Any ideas? There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

My 4.4 and my 4.2 and my 5.0 and my 3.6 have all done this - it's the sounder for the front parking sensors sometimes that goes all odd, but other times it's a fan that decides to have an off day. Nothing to worry about as usually sorts itself. If it seemed to fade out I'd say it was the sensor speaker having a funny turn  Land Rover Addict

Thought it sounded speakeresque it sounded like a capacitor fading out.

Because he was parked on a steep hill...

Pulling away up said steep hill Doesn't stress/overheat/burn the oil/gearbox components as much...

If the brakes fail, the car will hold on the transmission at a steeper angle before it rolls.

Its harder for the weight of the car to turn the engine over when its not running.

Not sure how this works as well on an auto though........will the torque converter not slip anyway ? - and why you can't bump start autos ? Interesting.........

i did read and fully understand the original post, but there is no reason to put in low ratio just because it is on a steep hill!!

I had it in low ratio as i was trying to get into a tight paralell parking space and as i was on a hill it wouldnt "creep" up the hill in hi ratio.

It was a bit easier to put it in low and let the car creep into the space and not have to press the gas.

Buzzing went away, yet to return. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
