could only see the air pipes but not the connector for the windshield

you may have to short the wires that go to the electronic box below the foot under the carpet in front of the seat.

Have you opened it up? maybe its just some internal fuse etc or needs drying out
Nothing lost having a look inside. Did it blow car fuses etc when it died?
