Morning all,

Seeking advice, please re non working reversing camera on my recently acquired 2016 model year L405. This is the camera with built in washer.

Basically upon selecting reverse no image appears on screen. Also on the motorway an error message triggered for blind spot monitoring unavailable. I’m presuming this is because of the lack of the camera / feed issue.

I’ve searched previous threads and seen issues where an LR dealer has thrown a new camera on only to find it was a wiring issue.

Is there a troubleshooting process to test the camera unit, feed wires etc and try establish what the actual issue is rather than gunning parts at the issue hoping something works?

one of te reasons it can happen just because you have one defect in your parking sensor system, either sensor or wiring loom. it messes up completely the rear camera. 2013 L405 V8 5.0 Aspirated Autobiography

Thanks for that. One thing I’ve noticed is that upon pressing the camera symbol beside the infotainment screen, nothing at all happens. I’d expect the display to go into camera mode……. Current

those camera do do work either, nor the parking assyst system if one sensor is messed up 2013 L405 V8 5.0 Aspirated Autobiography

Parking sensors seem to work ok.

No camera display at all.

I’m wondering if there’s a way to test the camera off the car, and whether there’s a process to test continuity of wiring etc…… Current

I had this when I got my 2014 car many moons ago. (don't get me started on Lookers Bishop's Stortford who misdiagnosed it for over a month and damaged the car whilst it was in with them - it was so bad we nearly ended up in court).

Anyway mine had the same "no image in reverse" fault, it was a break in the wire at the tailgate/body intersection - eventually LR warranty also fitted a new camera at the same time.

Lookers Bishops Stortford wanted to take the rear glass out to fix the wiring (completely unnecessary fyi), and the fault was eventually rectified at another LR service centre by changing that section of wiring look between the body and the tailgate. Been perfect ever since (appx 4 years).

it happened to be the front sensor loom which was disconnected.... probably loosely connected previously during maintenance

Thanks for the heads up on the wiring issue and location of the potential issue.

Hoping to get this looked at in a couple of weeks and test the camera, wiring feed etc. Will keep the post updated.  Current
