It will be bad to lose the V8, the V6 is a good engine too, barring the potential crank issues with it, hope these new ones are good. |

I had a 300 TDI Soft dash in about 2006, so slow it makes a TD6 look speedy but bags of character, wish I’d never gotten rid of it, they’re worth a fortune now!. |

I think both choices are wrong the 3.0 TD6 is clearly the best of the bunch . |

Aside of oil leaks in places, alternators and starter going at around 80k, the 4.4TDV8 with the ZF8HP is a really amazing powertrain. It's reliable, has immense torque and gets incredible economy.

I'm seriously thinking of getting a 4.4 TDV8 at the moment for my own car, so much car for the money, from what I know they're not prone to turbos blowing and less likely to suffer gearbox issues than ... |

I was thinking the same, about TFLs system, no diesel L322 will be ULEZ compliant.
Easier rule of thumb than even entering the reg on their glitchy system, if it's got AdBlue you're ok. |

The BMW 4.4 is Euro 3, the Jag 4.4 is Euro 4 as are all 4.2SCs IIRC. |

It looks like you’ve done all the stuff that needs doing-i.e. gearbox oil etc, from what I’ve heard the 8 speed isn’t nearly as troublesome as the 6 speed (I had a 6 speed fail in my old RRS too ... |
