Gas is quite expensive in my part of canada, no where near as bad as the UK or europe. Currently a litre of premium fuel is $1.48 so its getting close to $6.00 gallon.

Just wanted to update this,
I went to the dealer last week to have a 4 wheel alignment+ suspension calibrated ( HUGE difference) , rear hub bushings and the check engine light checked .

I think I have a similar problem but my truck is a 04 V8 petrol.
I notice it most right at 2500 then it fades off after 3000 then comes back at 4000 then its smooth after 4500.

There are two halves to the PCV system though, hence the four pipes. Did you replace/check all four? Or just the two on the top?

I would just disconnect the battery leads and let it sit over night......
