Nexen - a hidden gem?

I need a pair of tyres for my S/C, and I've been looking at Nexens, I've done some searched on the forum and it comes up with comments like cheap crap, but generally the reviews online seem to be pretty good. Looking at their US website it doesn't look like they are a typical cheap tyre company:

http://www.nexentireusa.com/page3-1/AboutNexenTire

In the US they even give a 60,000 miles warranty!

So any views from forum users on these tyres? They can be had for around £100/ corner, so if they are good then they're looking like bargain of the year! Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

I had four of them on the old SC and found them to be quite good at road holding and shoulder wear considering its polo mint city I live in (roundabouts galore) Thumbs Up ====================================

"Open Mike Night " sounded like a lot of fun until i found out i was going to an Autopsy

I have Nexen's on my 20 inch rims, they are OK, but I find them much noisier and less grippy than the pirellis which are on my 19 inch wheels. Cannot argue with the price of them though.

Think that the 19 inch wheels will be quieter than the 20's as there is more sidewall, but the pirellis definitely grip better than the Nexen's.

Yet i found the 19's that i bought from dan and had on my old SC were Noisier , and the 20" Pirellis i have now are less grippy and roadholding than the Nexens …. Thumbs Up ====================================

So on current feedback, a bit of a gem really considering they're £100, against, for example £250 for Conti's!, or £328 for Pirellis! Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

Hankook Ventus ST are about £20 per corner more and are a far better tyre

I think these days the more well known secondary makes like nexen kumho etc are actually very good and compared to the to brand names, I don't think the performance of the more expensive makes justifies their high cost V8 or else ...

No I bottled it cliffy and part exchanged them without tyres for FFRR 2011 Autobiography ones with Michelin Lattitude tyres.

I have to admit the RRS wheels looked better than the FFRR ones, the FF ride beautifuly but all in all I think the FF looked better with the 22" Overfinch I removed, wish I'd kept them now lol

Out of all the tyres I'd have Hankook Ventus
