Sorry to hear that Simon.

Sounds like a battery issue or the alternator pack is allowing current to leak back...

Sorted now Thumbs Up

When Landrover assist called to say that they would be delayed by 2 hours I resorted to highly technical wiggling of every connection. Having previously checked that the battery was connected I crawled though into the back of the car and checked the main fuse board (only think I could check as total lack of electricity meant that I couldn't check the other fuse box as I couldn't open the glovebox Twisted Evil ) as nothing was out of place here and as I also had no tools with me I resorted to pushing on the live connection to the battery, Lo and behold, sparking sound of electricity and life in the car Thumbs Up

Seems that when I swapped my old 90A/h battery for the 110 A/h one I didn't get the terminal on as well as I thought I had and it had worked loose (really not certain how as the battery and the terminal are so tightly wedged in due to the increased size of the battery) Whistle Whistle

Car started, land rover assist cancelled and I have since used a little extra 'persuasion' to move the battery slightly to the right and get the positive terminal better attached to the post on the battery.

Couldn't open glovebox without battery connected - is that a new trick introduced with post '05 models?
(Yeah, I know scarey, new thread!) .

LOL, sure is Joe, but only on the ones with the facelift interior as the upper and lower glovebox are actuated...

Great if your car is stuffed and you need to get to the fuseboard... Wink

I wish they had made the boot rise and fall electrically instead of the glovebox trick mind Very Happy

My glovebox(es) randomly refuse to open, though to be fair it's been fine since the alarm sounder tilt switch thing was fixed a couple of weeks ago. Random connection #23132. Over engineered to the point of uselessness. What's wrong with a simple mechanical catch with a lock. Graham

I was lamenting this design oversight as the kids were complaining and the wife was looking 'a bit miffed'

Also the fact that I had to crawl through to the rear fuseboard as I couldn't risk releasing the rear boot and then not being able to close it again as none of the actuators would have fired, as it was raining heavily and blowing a gale Twisted Evil

New Zealand 2006 Range Rover Vogue SE Supercharged Java Black

Drove home early afternoon right through the worst of the rain and wind, visibility down to 10-15m during one very heavy shower. 3x road closures due to fallen tree's, another 3 or 4 places were fallen tree's had been cleared and a whole lot of surface flooding.

Also found (masquerading as a puddle) a f Censored ing great big, square edged pothole which took a couple of small pieces out of the sidewall. Will need to get that checked tomorrow Sad 2006 Supercharged
