When you top up, do you top up to the top of the reservoir or the level marker?

I've got a BIG leak, which is driving me mad, as I cant find it (big as in it loses about a litre every 10 miles, more if I rev it hard). I've been under it & there's red/pink coolant running down both sides of the gearbox housing, so I'm guessing it's somewhere behind the engine - I'm gonna have a look for Joe90's post that was mentioned earlier, but if anyone's got any other suggestions of where to look, it'd be greatly appreciated - it goes in the garage on Tuesday, so I'd like to save a few quid & sort it myself... 2003 L322 Vogue SE 4.4 + LPG

Only things at the back are; coolant hoses for heater matrix (joe90's hose), coolant manifold connecting LH & RH Banks, and 2 coolant pipes connecting water pump to rear manifold. My guess would be joes hose, then connecting pipes their only "o" rings sealing them then the manifold gaskets but doubt both would fail. Have a look here http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic6714.h...oolant+pan my post on stripping the inlet side to get to the valley pan. A few pics might help you out. That's great, thanks Rob - I spotted your post & all the really great pics just after I posted my first comments - I'm putting my money on one of the LPG connections - my vapouriser is situated towards the front of the car on the RHS (looking from the front). Your post reminded me that the bottom hose on the vapouriser was leaking slightly a couple of weeks ago, so I moved it slightly & re-tightened the jubilee clip - its got worse since then (I originally thought I'd over tightened the clip & made it worse, but it's definitely dry around there now...) 2003 L322 Vogue SE 4.4 + LPG
