2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Java Black

Really, really hot centre console!

Is it normal for the centre console storage bin to be really quite hot?

Two options imhe.

1). Transmission overheating - check oil levels and oil cooler for gear box if fitted - maybe blocked with mud if previously used off road in deep goo.

2). Heating ducts maybe displaced

3) Could be on fire and smouldering away slowly

p.s. warmish is normal, really hot is not

It's only just been serviced and had an air conditioning leak fixed. Thinking it could be option 2. Add to that, the entertainment system is now dying (no audio, no sat nav) and I think the problems could be related.

Saying that, we did also go through some heavy snow so maybe it is that?

Have you tried turning the rear console vents to cold?

The tubes for the rear vents make the armrest area hot if they are set to hot and cold if set to cold. '09 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto for the Mrs

Yes, in the summer its freezing cold in there....Good for beverages....

Disconnect the button for the rears controls. The air speed diminishes and consequently also the temperature.

I had this problem. After investigation it was found that the front part of the ac unit was not 'talking' to the rear part.

Sounds like a dealer visit.
