Air suspension inactive

(as always, sorry for poor english).

I did search the wiki. No answers.
I searched the web, lots of info, but did not find any perfect answer to my problem.

Here is the situation -
This afternoon i started my 05 FFRR. The warning "air susp. inactive" shows.
i tried the wheel all the way to the right and then all the way to the left. Warning still on.
The light in the centre of the button one use to raise and lower the car lights steady. Not sure it did before?
I pushed that button, nothing happens.
I tried to raise the car. Not working. That other light blinks a few times and then steady at normal mode again.

Around three weeks ago, when i had the wheels changed to winter wheels, the guy doing the job "jumped" in to the rear of the car with one of the summer wheels said "what was that?" It was like the rear end of the car kind of sank a bit when he jumped in.
I havent noticed any difference in handling since. Havent tried to raise or lower the car since.
I havent noticed anything until today.

What can be the matter here?
Guess i need to take it do a shop?
Can i drive it until then?

thanks a lot
Starman

it could be the battery...

you only turn the steering to left/right when a new battery is fitted ... ... - .- -.

1.Go drive it for a few miles then go home.

2.Lock it up and go have a cup of tea. (it is important to lock the car so all the systems go to sleep and reset properly)

3.After 10 minutes go out to the car, unlock it, and start her up - if your problem goes away it was more than likely an electrical glitch caused by a weak battery as already mentioned.

Then report back here ASAP.

re-reading your post , the fitter could have damaged the compressor when he put the spare in, best get a garage to check it out.. ... - .- -.

Thanks,
I tried this morning, but same information.
The battery was changed by the previous owner 5-6 months ago.
Could something have been broken when the "jumped" in to the car w that summerwheel?
I havent since that noticed any difference in the ride.

When you had your wheels swapped over did you also change the spare wheel?

The spare wheel sits over the suspension air compressor and moving the spare in and out can easily dislodge the electrical connections to the air compressor or disturb the air suspension breather that exits into the spare wheel well.

This would be a very simple and quick check before going on to more complex diagnosis

Let us know how you get on

cheers
R

No way the suspension was damaged by someone 'jumping' into the car - FFRRs are made of sterner stuff than that!!
