Not sure you could get away with fuel oil but you could probably get away with marine grade fuel.

Used engine oil might be OK as long as it was filtered first. Although frankly I wonder whether it would be worth it in the long term?

Doesn't the FBH have a low voltage cut out? A full nights heating would surely cripple a FFRR battery if not plugged into the house for charging. [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]
