How to replace the battery in the key fob?

Chaps

very simple question: the Range (2002 TD6) is telling me the battery in my key fob is running low. Fair enough. Is this just a simple matter of replacing the battery, or will removal of the power source make a mess of security code synchronisation with the car?

Can I just swap the battery over or does this need a trip to the dealer?

thanks
RRG

Just change it as normal but put the new one in within 3mins of removing the old one to be safe... But beware that early cars sometimes continually tell you the key batteries are low! The joys of FF ownership i guess...

I've had best results with Duracel, worst results with Maxxel...
