*2007 Range Rover with some faults!

Hi Guys, My First post!

I have just upgraded my RR from an 04 to an 07 TDV8 3.6 Vogue . I bought it from are car supermarkert place and it has a few faults (Lumbar support doesnt work) and clunking into first gear when slowing down to a stop.! Any ideas?

The car comes with 1 month warranty so im hoping to find all the faults and recalls needed for the car so that I can get them fixxed under warranty in the first month.

So i guess what im asking is- can you guy reccomend a list of things both mechanical and electronic that are prone to go wrong with the 07-09 RR's

Thanks guys !

Speaking from personal experience (2007 TDV8)...

Alarm going off randomly when unlocking the car
Park Heater not firing up although fans etc work
Seized caliper(s)
Water around the compressor in the spare wheel well
Rust on front edges of rear wheel arches Graham

hi mate,

congrats on the new RR. I would certainly say tho, any sort of clunking or banging or any abnormal noise on a gearbox should be attended to with high importance. I would call the dealer up asap and tell them you have noticed this fault and want it looked at asap and if anything you have your peace of mind its been looked at and its ok. also the earlier you tell the dealer of the issue the better it is for you, because beleive me these car supermarkets will do anything to get out of dealing with an issue.

Thumbs Up

Get the gearbox software updated.

My 07 was 3 updates in arrears.

Had them all done and it transformed the gearbox. Now "almost" silky smooth! Thumbs Up 08 model TDV8 Vogue SE Rimini Red/ parchment. 04 TD6 Vogue Oslo Blue / parchment

Also check the lower lip of the top half of the boot clam shell as these rust as well, even on ones only a few years old from what i've seen.

Check the rear passenger side compartment of the boot and if slightly damp get it investigated properly.

Check that the suspension rises and falls pretty uniformly as well.

Ensure engine doesn't use much oil (unlike the last tdv8 i drove which drank 7 litres in 2 days!)

play with ALL of the buttons and electrical options to make sure they work Smile even using the FBH on a full heat cycle to test the battery as well Very Happy

Thanks guys!
Does anyone had experienced ticking or taping noise (possible valve tapping) on cold start up? When I start my 07 RR in the morning I hear a tapping/ ticking noise and then it goes away when its warmed up. Is this normal? its only done 22,000 miles. Valve lifters?
Thanks again,

I need an Iphone adapter for the phone kit, Will this play my music from the phone?
Or do I need a whole new adapter to be fitted to play music!?
Thanks

Sadly you can't stream music from your iPhone over bluetooth, so you either use the Aux audio connecton if you have RSE, or if not, the RR iPod kit - which is around £400!
The other alternative is to use an FM modulator, Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
