Or, you might have both of them in the wrong way round. LEDs are directional. I replaced loads of filament bulbs on my D3 with LEDs, no issue at all. The indicators DO need resistors though. Graham

Cheers for fast responses LEDs are fitted correctly. Reckon it must be the resistor issue. Now to find some suitable led bulbs. Will post result. |

Tried 4smd LEDs with built in resistor. Things are improving but only just!! Both LEDs illuminate but only for 2-3 seconds. No fade. Does anyone know the resistance required to get correct operation? |

Seems to be an awful lot of effort just to put some LEDs in. I'd have thought you're better off with normal bulbs, as LEDs are all pretty directional and you want the light to spread out a bit more for the approach light to function suitably. |

Are these LED bulbs not illegal for use on the outside of a car? |

When I changed all my interior lights for LED lights I cut and soldered the live wire to the mirror puddle lamps into the lower door panel illumination circuit, so they work without the fault and a bonus is, they stay on with the interior lights for longer!
