OK, a quick update - managed to try it out on a full cycle this morning & definately NOT 30 mins !

I reckon about 15 to 20. I can't be entirely accurate because whilst the little green light on the remote kept on flashing past 30 mins, after about 22 mins I checked the car and the heater was off. I was presuming the light on the remote would turn off when the heater had, but it just kept on flashing !

Luke warm inside. Am I dissapointed ? Not sure to be honest, if everyone says it should be at full heat & toasty inside then yes it's poor, But if it's just to get a bit of warmth in before driving off on a frosty morning then it does work and do the job. After driving for 2 to 3 minutes, the cabin was then pretty much at full heat, whereas normally it takes at least 6 to 8 mins to heat up from cold.

If it was an option, then I wouldn't have bothered unless it was only an extra £100 or something, but it's standard on the diesel. I wouldn't bother to add it to the petrol given the choice.
As I garage mine I'll hardly use it, but will be interesting to try it out during the snowy season if lft outside.

Anyway, hope that confirms for you Rambles.

ps. mine is a 2012Model Year version built September 2011.

Will the 17 minutes or 20 ish be sufficient to clear the windscreen?
I suspect the answer will be "no", and the complaints / questions will start coming into LR

I just had the AGM battery and software update done to my MY11 and the time is now 20 mins, if you go into the timed climate screen on mine it now shows 20 mins instead of 30. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

My MY11 has apparently had all the software upgrades, and it still shows 30 minutes on the timed climate control screen....so perhaps it has not had them all.

And as for the 17 minutes....the FBH couldn't clear the frost off my windscreen this morning. Just a couple of clear spots at the base of the windscreen. My "old" MY10 would have laughed at this weather and completely cleared the screen.

If it helps rambles I had two updates done, they were campaigns Q142 and Q137. One was to replace the battery with the AGM one and the second was the software update including the changes to the FBH timing. I am waiting for a new Telestart box to arrive at the dealer but I dont think that will effect the timings. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

Unless the heater is greatly more efficient than those fitted to older FFRR, 17minutes will not suffice.

After 25minutes this morning my car was lovely and HOT inside, so much so that cranking the dual climate upto 27' each side the system didn't use full fan speed but only just over half to maintain the heat

If LR are going to insist on 17minutes as their burn cycle then something is wrong and its their system, not the webasto causing it and they need to work it out properly and set a few guys onto it. Bodging a fix out to reduce the burn time is not a fix, more like a cheap plaster on a bullet wound!

If anything the newer car should be more power saving on the built in electronics and thus consume LESS power and be able to have a longer burn cycle..

Wonder how much LR would pay someone to sort this out for them as they are hiring now for some quality engineers for electronics and info/media systems and so forth (£35-50k IIRC)

I agree 17 minutes is not enough. But I am struggling in my letters to LR to make them accept it is not enough.
Any suggestions for a convincing argument?

OK, so mine must have a mind of it's own, or perhaps the temp was reached so shut off early before, because this morning she was on for a full 30 minutes !

So just back from the dealer.
My MY11 now has a level battery management system. This ensures the battery is kept topped up by the charging system, rather than being allowed to drop as it used to before the charging system kicked in under the "old" "intelligent" system.
I also had a defective battery...which although the local garage equipement said it was ok, the specialist equipment brought down by LR said it was defective.
So when testing it this morning...it did the 17 / 18 minutes that is now the new cycle time on the MY11 Vogue SE which have had the upgrade, or the MY12s straight out of the factory. (According to LR...)
Those MY11s which have not yet been done might do more than 17/18 minutes, but those cars are at risk of not starting due to having a flat battery.

not freezing.....but still chilly.

not "comfortable" as described in the handbook which you would get after 30 minutes...the cabin is really too big to make comfortable in only 17 minutes - IMHO.
