Aux input

On my 2007 there is an Aux input on the back of the centre consol.

So, as the cheapskate I am I bought a splitter cable (phone to line out/charge) off eBay for less than 3 quid to provide low cost iPhone integration for the music whilst charging through the one cable, the rest is handled by a Wiggs modded BT module.

Imagine my dissapointment (but not surprise) to find that the Aux socket is only delivering a signal to the RHS. I have confirmed beyond any reasonable doubt Your Honours that the cable is not guilty. Therefore before I start hacking about I thought I should ask if anyone got experience of this, until now, undiscovered problem with my car.

After all asking on here stopped me taking a chisel to my wheel nuts Very Happy Geoff

The AUX input is probably only a stereo three point connector (Left/Right and Ground) with no power. Does a "normal" stereo lead from your phone / other device deliver both channels OK? .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

You're right the aux input is a 3 ring mini jack plug the lead splits from the iphone one part going here and the other to the USB charger. But it's definitely the aux input that's the problem, nothing gets sounds to the left channel. Geoff

I use the AUX method to listen to my iPhone and all is well. I assume you're using the 3.5mm jack?

I use a separate cable (fed from the ciggy lighter in the centre console) to charge. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Geoff - if you want to try another cable before getting into the trim panels give me a shout, I have a couple that work and can only be a couple of miles from you at the most Thumbs Up
