What is Personal Telephone Integration ?

Hi,

According to the Land Rover build sheet print, my 2003 Vogue has this.

A search on the web seems to say its just wiring, and doesn't do anything without more kit, which means it's of no practical use........

Am I missing the point ?

Many thanks

I thought PTI included the bluetooth module? In any case even if it's just the wiring, to successfully strip the trim and run compatible, neat wiring then replace the trim correctly on a 7-8 year old car is a battle.

Try to search on a Bluetooth device, if you see "Land Rover" stick pin 2121 in.

YMMV good luck

from the landrover site,

PTI stands for Personal Telephone Integration, a fully integrated hands-free mobile phone system for your car via a Bluetooth® link or cradle in the centre console  ... - .- -.

That was a bit more integrated than I had in mind !! Rolling with laughter

I pick the car up later this week, so I'll have a go at a bluetooth search.

Just not sure it was around in 2003.........

Many thanks

More importantly mjdronfield

How did you obtain the build sheet? I would love one for my car.
Enjoy the FFRR experience when you pick it up.

I went to the local Land Rover dealer, and a chap in the parts department printed it off his system from the registration number.

It detailed vin, colour, delivery date, options, what warranty work etc.

That was how I found out the front driveshaft recall had not been done.

Hope this helps

Well, I had a few mins with the car inbetween it having some work done and it going for a valet - should collect it Monday all being well.

Had a quick go trying to pair my phone, and not much happened.

I then noticed there was not even a telephone option on the menu of the sat nav screen, so I guess it doesn't have PTI after all.... Sad

The drivers door doesn't seem to open with the central locking anymore, so they have a bit more work to do.

CD autochanger has been replaced though, and the tunes sound good.......

Right chaps,

I have just returned from my local O-LR-C with the build sheet and found that I do have the 'Personal Telephone Integration' - I will see if my iPhone work tomorrow.

The sheet states 'body coloured door handles' despite mine having the grey finish like every other Range Rover I have seen.

AFAIK, bluetooth was not avail from the factory till 05. The PIT was the Siemens BitII phone in the console. The same controls work with the BMW BT modules on the pre 05's, but the BMW BT (ULF) module must be added.
