Big Yellow Taxi

Took my family away to Scotland for half term week, the FFRR was of course fantastic for the job, sublime comfort for the 8 hours driving up there, took all the luggage we chucked at it (an horrendous amount!), and was great for driving us around up the mountain roads.

One letdown was the price of LPG up in Scotland (Loghilphaed), 88.9 pence per litre rather than the 69.7 I pay around here!

The rear DVD screens kept the kids fully occupied, and the iPod plugged in through aux socket kept us amused.

Only let down was on the journey home, I noticed the brakes making a racket on heavy traffic on the M6 and pulled off at the services and called out the AA. On one side the pads were gone, down to the metal, and had knackered the disk, so then had to wait a couple of hours for a flatbed to transport us, and continue our journey at 56mph for the final 160 miles, 3 hours of no comfort in the back of the lorry, and arriving home at 1 am instead of 8.30 pm as we should have.

Strange that the pads only wore down on one side, the garage couldn't find anything wrong with the calliper though, pads and discs replaced today, so fully functioning again, and treated her to a 'gold valet', so looking a million dollars too! Thumbs Up Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

It's surprising that you had had a "low pad" warning, long before they got that bad. Graham

Surprised me too Graham, I think maybe there are no sensors on the rear? Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

only 2 sensors , 1 on near side front and 1 on off side rear, so if the off side wears due to a sticky calliper then you wont know until you hear the noise.. ... - .- -.

Shocked Cheapskate engineering, sorry. That's poor; there will be some Ford product cost engineer somewhere rubbing his hands at the thought of the money shaved off ..... Graham
