Guessing the reason for it is maybe LR thinks everyone drives at the 10 to 2 or quarter to three position and the horn is there in easy reach of the thumbs ………

If you get a sheet of 3/4" ply, about 12" wide by 5" deep, a LR badge and some glue you could glue it to the horn buttons and have the same effect, good luck if the airbag ever goes off though!

I use the horn a LOT, in traffic and getting into the gates at the compounds. Without a horn you can't drive in Nigeria (or Italy for that matter ) and a lot of other parts of Africa. I have to admit the position is not ideal for all uses. In normal traffic it is fine (a lot of the time I drive with one thumb on one of the horn buttons) but turning into compounds (especially the one I live in, that needs a 90 degree turn) it is not always handy as the buttons end up top and bottom. On my FFRR the horn is quite loud and gets the "proper response" here. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
